The original series dealt with a wide variety of topics, and held a wide variety of potentially upsetting content. In the course of remastering the series, I have made the decision to include disclaimers in front of certain scenes if a scene depicts such content as:
- Blood / Gore
- Death
- Sex (Implied and Explicitly Depicted)
- It is important to note that this series frequently depicts explicit sex acts for elongated periods of time, and was criticized upon release as “pornographic.” Interpretations of its validity as art are widely varied. We leave you to make your own decision on this topic.
- Abuse (Physical and Emotional)
That being said, if you are compelled to consistently skip all depictions of the above, we do not believe this series is for you. All of these elements are fundamental to the story being told, and the warnings are provided primarily as a convenience to allow for individual decisionmaking. In addition, certain elements are essential to almost every scene, and as such the below will not recieve warnings, as they are essentially always present:
- Religion
- The Supernatural
A good-faith effort has been made to remaster the original work into modern formats, and some adaptations have been made for viewing on mobile devices. That being said, the original experience of this site is intended for viewing on desktop computers in landscape. Some elements may not render properly outside of these conditions.
In addition, this site is not particularly screen-reader friendly due to the nature of the layout. Please be aware that, although a good faith effort has been made to avoid tripping up accessibility tools, I cannot guarantee the pages will work particularly well.
Due to temporal licensing issues, most of the songs included on the original release of the series have been removed from the remaster. You are encouraged to listen along as these songs are listed. You may see these noted like this: (♫: Song Title - Song Artist), with a link to the original song provided.
The Afterlife Corporation, and many related entities, are now defunct. Please note that I am simply a shepherd of a small share of their intellectual property on a limited budget generously provided by the Concern Collective. I am working on these remasters in my limited time and will upload each scene as soon as I am able.
To begin reading, start at the first scene of the Pilot episode, Dead!. I’ve sorted the site by episode, so it shouldn’t be too hard to navigate, I hope.
